We're sorry to tell you that we have decided to postpone our 2008 Annual Championship Gala (again) until the pool refurbishment is complete and the facilities are up and running properly.

In previous years, we have been delighted to see lots of parents turning out to cheer their children on and were naturally concerned this year about the lack of spectator area for the event. However, In addition to this limitation, a new restriction was imposed by OCLL on 20 January, when diving from the deep end was banned whilst the safety barrier is in place. This would mean that all events (except for Backstroke) would have to start by 'pushing off' from the shallow end. We therefore decided that it would be better to run the event when there is a proper spectator area and we can use the diving blocks again (and may be even christen our new lane ropes!).

We trust you agree with this decision and our swimmers are not too disappointed.

We promise to re-schedule it as soon as the full facility is up and running normally again and in the meantime, will make a full refund to all those of you who have already paid the entry fee.
